Springfield Mall est. 1993

This is a song written for the memory of the old Springfield Mall, Virginia, circa 1993.

- Keep scrolling down, this is probably the largest dedicated page to the old Mall in existence; what the song's about and why I wrote it...

Listen to the song on Spotify

"I remember when indoor light came from above

But now it comes from below..."

I went on my first date here with my first girlfriend and we made out to the whole shooting scene of True Romance in 1993, there at the AMC theatre.

Lyrics

I’ve seen the sea

And I have the key

And I know what can be

But Entrance Number 3

And Timeout Arcade

Are gone.

But I remember

I remember Springfield Mall

I remember

Springfield Mall

Springfield Mall

And I remember Dave cookin’ them burgers

Sizzlin’ up nice

And I remember the good

For being the good

Hong Kong and squeaky sneakers

Squeaky sneakers

And I remember

Orange Julius

I remember

Orange Julius

And I remember when

Indoor light came from above

But now it comes from below

I remember

First kisses

In sordid long movie theaters

Hours long
